What is a SMILE surgery?

SMILE (SMall Incision Lenticule Extraction) a.k.a. "keyhole" surgery is a minimally invasive surgery. During the procedure a femtosecond laser is used to create a lenticule ("prescription" tissue) within the cornea. Then, the lenticule is extracted through a micro (~2mm) incision.
